Bridal Clutch Bags Wholesale: Sourcing Guide for Wedding Retailers
Published: September 5, 2026 | 9 min read
Bridal clutches are the highest-AOV occasion accessory a wedding retailer can stock: an ivory satin or pearl-crystal clutch costs $6-18 FOB from a Chinese factory and retails $35-90 in bridal boutiques. Unlike everyday bags, bridal clutches are bought once, for a fixed date, with little price sensitivity — which makes reliable delivery and color matching more important than unit price. This guide covers the category, real MOQs, FOB pricing, and the QC points that matter for wedding stock.
What Belongs in a Bridal Clutch Program
Most bridal retailers build the category from four price tiers:
| Style | FOB Cost | Retail | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ivory satin envelope clutch | $6-10 | $35-55 | Bride, bridal-party gifts |
| Pearl-embellished box clutch | $10-16 | $55-85 | Boutique bridal, mother of the bride |
| Crystal minaudière | $12-18 | $65-90 | Reception, evening wedding |
| Wristlet with bow / floral trim | $5-9 | $28-45 | Bridesmaid sets, volume orders |

MOQ and Pricing Reality
- Stock bridal designs: 100-300 pieces per style, mixed-SKU allowed.
- Custom ivory/blush colorways: 300+ pieces (dye lot matching).
- Pearl or crystal embellishment: 300-500 pieces, handwork-driven.
- Sampling: 5-7 days for stock adaptations; 10-14 days for new bridal patterns.
- Bulk production: 25-35 days — order by early spring for June-September wedding season.
Bridal is date-driven: confirm the factory's production calendar before committing to June or September deliveries. For factory capability and sampling terms, see the custom clutch bag manufacturer overview.
Color Matching — the #1 Bridal Complaint
"Ivory" is not a standardized color. What one factory calls ivory, a bridal salon may read as cream or champagne. Prevent disputes with three steps:
- Swatch first: get a fabric swatch of the exact satin or velvet before bulk production, and compare under daylight.
- Reference a pantone or a known brand's ivory in the purchase order, not just the word "ivory".
- One dye lot per order: require the factory to dye the full quantity in a single batch and state it in the PO.
Quality Control for Bridal Stock
- Satin surface: no pulls, snags, or water marks — they photograph badly on bridal displays.
- Pearl/crystal work: each bead secured; run a rub test on 5 pieces per 300.
- Frame and clasp: kiss-lock frames must close flush with zero rattle.
- Lining: white or blush satin lining, no visible glue.
- Chains: detachable chains let brides convert the clutch for the reception — a proven upsell.
Inspect at AQL 2.5 before shipment; bridal returns are expensive precisely because they are event-linked.
Who Should Stock Bridal Clutches
- Bridal salons and bridal-party retailers: attach-rate accessories lift the average dress ticket.
- Boutiques near wedding venues: date-driven, gift-friendly, high margin.
- Online occasion retailers: bundle a clutch + veil + garter as a one-page wedding accessories kit.
- First order: 3-4 styles × 100-150 pieces, delivered 8 weeks before peak season.
